Lo Res Dialroom Tapestry Test

I wanted to see if we might want to add a little wind when Ten turns the dial. It is on top of a mountain so, you know, mountain tops are pretty windy. Obviously they wouldn't move nearly this much in most scenes, just in B15.5, B17, D13. Plus I thought it might make Ten's decision affect the world a little more without having to do very much. This is 1/4th resolution with basic lighting.

Tapestry progress

More progess on the tapestries. Especially on the test where Ten runs through the tapestries. Trying to get the shape from the animatic but also have a realistic feel to them.

Another tapestry in context

Made the tapestries narrower to match the size in the boards, but now the width is similar to that of the pillars, which are also red.  I'll keep working on it.

Tapestries in context

Blocky-ness of the top half seems kind of overdone to me, but I like the red

The yellow isn't really my favorite, but I like having a bunch of individual tapestries instead of one big one

I like the red better, but definitely need to make the tapestries way narrower, tho.

Tried with skinnier tapestries commonly found in Buddhist temples.  I like the narrowness but the detail might be too much.

Tapestry WIP

Colors need to be adjusted and details need to be added to the 2nd one :/

Running through the tapestries tests

I did a few rough tests of how the tapestries will respond when he runs with his hand through the hanging tapestries. I'm looking for what material we want these to be. It looks like we want them to be pretty light and floaty but most tapestries are a little thicker. Some are as thick as some rugs. Here's some material references from lightest and most bendy to thickest. It's pretty hard to find tapestries as long and thin as we want.

Lightest and thinnest

Medium weight and thickness
Heavier and thicker

And here are some rough tests of what the movement would look like depending on the thickness as Ten runs with his arm extended through the hanging tapestries:
